Applying for Adult and Grade 12 Learning Awards
How to Apply
Applications are open April 1st and must be submitted by May 15.
1. Application Form
Use a separate form for each award:
- Fritz Pfeiffer Adult Learning Award Application Form
- BVCF Grade 12 Learning Award Application Form
- Wetzin’kwa Grade 12 Learning Award Application Form
- George Tugnum Adult Learning Award Application Form
The form will open in a format that allows only certain boxes to be completed.
Save the form to your computer and complete the required information.
When you have finished editing the form use the “save as” function to save the file and select a new name using your last name first. Save in pdf format.
You can also download and print the application form. Fill in required information.
2. Cover Letter
Your cover letter is an essential component of your application. The BVCF Learning Awards committee will review it carefully when determining eligibility for awards.
Include:
- An introduction to yourself
- Why you are applying for the award
- Details of your achievements, volunteer work, and community, school and leadership activities
- Why you feel you are a good applicant for the award.
- You must sign the letter
3. Two Reference Letters
You must include two reference letters. References can be from current or past teachers, coaches, employers, mentors or others who are familiar with your achievements. Your references should explain why you are a good candidate for the award.
Letters must be signed by the references.
4. Submit Complete Package
Email the complete package to info@bvcf.ca. Or mail printed copies to BVCF, Box 4584, Smithers BC V0J 2N0. Be sure to include:
- Application form(s)
- Cover letter
- Reference letters
Package must arrive by May 15.

Applying for Grants
How to Apply
To apply for a BVCF grant, we must receive a complete application package by
November 30th.
2. Download, complete and save your documents
i) Partnership Agreement with a Registered Charity here, if applicable.
ii) Most recent financial statement for the organization that is applying for the grant.
iii) Supplier quotes for the project, if available.
iv) The Grant Application Form here. This form will open in a format that only allows certain boxes to be edited.
- Save the form to your computer and complete the required information.
- When you have finished editing the form use the “save as” function to save the file in pdf format and select a new name (e.g. our-charity-1.pdf)
3. Submit your documents
Email the complete package to BVCF. Be sure to include:
- Grant Application Form
- Partnership Agreement with a registered charity, if applicable
- Financial statement for your organization
- Supplier quotes for the project, if available
Package must arrive by 5 PM on November 30.

4. Your application will be reviewed and you will receive a reply whether you are successful or not.
If the project is approved BVCF will prepare a grant agreement and sign it at the Grant Award Event or by alternate arrangement.
As project progresses, retain receipts applicable to the portion of the project funded by BVCF showing the work and/or materials paid for and dated after the project approval date for submission with the Final Report. Please keep copies of newsletters, newspaper articles, photographs and other materials that acknowledge the BVCF contribution.
5. Submit Final Report

Community Impact Grants

BVCF Community Impact Grant
1. Expression of Interest
We are currently calling for Expressions of Interest (EOI): Brief project descriptions and organizational information. The EOI will be used to assess organization eligibility and how the project fits with BVCF strategic priorities.

- Email or mail to BVCF by June 28, 2024
2. Presentation
Successful EOI proponents will be invited to present project proposals to BVCF Board of directors.
3. Full Application
A detailed proposal, with complete budget and demonstration of organizational capacity will be required.
4. Selection of project(s)
BVCF will prepare a Grant Agreement with the successful proponent(s). Schedules for reporting and payment will be determined.
5. Project completion

How to complete the Grant Final Report
1. Assemble receipts and project photos
- Include receipts that are pertinent to the portion of the project receiving BVCF funding.
- You must have permission for the BVCF to use photos in promotional materials. We require at least one project photo.
2. Submit your report
i. Fully complete the BVCF Grant Final Report form here.
ii. Attach receipts and at least one project photo.
iii. Email the complete package to info@bvcf.ca. Or mail printed copies to BVCF, Box 4584, Smithers BC V0J 2N0

3. Your Grant Final Report will be reviewed
We will request further information if needed.
4. Once your Grant Final Report is approved we will forward the grant funds
NOTE: If you have partnered with a registered charity, the funds will be sent to the registered charity.
This Grant Final Report will help us determine impacts of BVCF grants and report back to supporters, and provide you with the opportunity to describe your accomplishments.
Return the report by the due date in the grant agreement. Grant payment will be sent after the report has been received and approved.
