Q. Where is the “BVCF area”?
A. The BVCF area encompasses a geographical region in northwest B.C. including Topley, Granisle, Houston, Telkwa, Smithers, the Hazeltons and the Upper Skeena.
Q. What awards am I eligible for?
A. Check our website, www.bvcf.ca for complete eligibilty and application information.
Q. How many of these awards can I apply for?
A. You may apply for more than one of these awards as long as you are eligible.
Q. When is the application deadline?
A. Applications must be received by May 15, 2019. Incomplete or late applications may not be reviewed.
Q. How will I know if I am successful?
A. You will receive a letter at your graduation ceremony. If you are already out of school and applying for a Fritz Pfeiffer Adult Learning Award, you will receive a letter from us in June.
Q. When will I receive the funds?
A. Once we have received written confirmation of registration and the official receipt of tuition fees from you we will send your award funds.
Q. Can I use the award next year?
A. Yes. You have 18 months to claim your award.
Q. Do I need to pay tax on my award?
A. In certain situations, scholarship funds are considered taxable income. If you receive an award from us, we will send an income tax form to you in the new year. For questions about how this scholarship might impact you, please check with a tax professional, or the Canada Revenue Agency.
